Laura Lewis Lifestyle Beauty Treatments Woolston Southampton - Waxing

Hair needs to be at least 1 cm long to be waxed with the exception of facial waxing. Depending on growth cycles, hair may start to grow back between 10 days and 6 weeks after waxing. With regular treatments hair may become finer, growth may be sparse and waxing may be less painful. It is important to have regular treatments to see results. I use a beautiful wax called Babyliss Pro Satin Smooth Gold Wax with Manuka Oil/Beeswax. It is silky smooth, and clients love how easily it removes from the skin. It is designed for stubborn hair on sensitive skin and I use it for all areas of waxing.

Intimate Waxing

Any bikini waxing can be done if you are on your period, so long as you wear tampons, but bear in mind how you will feel, and also that you will be more sensitive at this time.

Bikini - £8 - removes any hair that grows on the upper leg outside of a normal knicker line.

Extended bikini - £12 - removes hair for a high bikini line, and a little hair from underneath, to tidy up for holidays and swimming.

Brazilian - £20 - leaves a strip of hair (you decide how much) at the front of the pubic bone, and the line is followed underneath as well to remove some or all of the hair from the Labia and from around the bottom area.

Avoid for 24 - 48 hours after your waxing treatment:
  • Swimming
  • Gym
  • Heat treatments
  • Steam
  • Sauna
  • Applying lotions, perfumes, body sprays
  • Exfoliating
  • Tight clothing

Return for waxing as soon as the hair is at a suitable length to ensure great results and a less painful wax every time. For most people this tends to be after around 5 weeks. I am more than happy to see you before this time, but you may find that not all of the hair has returned, so results may be patchy.

Ensure great results every time!

To keep the skin smooth and silky, exfoliate regularly. If you are prone to ingrown hairs, use a preparation with Salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells, reduce redness and kill bacteria.

The more waxing treatments you have done, the less painful it becomes. Hair can return finer over time. It is important to understand that hair grows in cycles and the true benefits of waxing are often achieved after a few treatments have been performed. Once hair is waxed in a cycle as part of a routine the results become more and more noticeable.
